90 Seconds of Awesomeness is probably my favorite Minecraft video series, mostly because instead of watching someone uhhh and ahhh for minutes on end whilst jumping up and down in a way they evidently consider to be entertaining, it cuts to the chase and teaches you useful new Minecraft tricks. In this episode of awesomeness, you learn how to create indirect light, so you can light your house without visible torches or glowstone.

Evil Minecraft is a very comprehensive project that changes the very nature and ambiance of the game. There are entire new (evil) game mechanics, (evil) mob powers, (evil) sounds and (evil) songs. If you enjoy Minecraft, but aren’t terrified enough when you play it, then the Evil Minecraft mod and conversion will be more than welcome, they will be essential.

A blitzingly, blazingly, face-liftingly accurate representation of a Counter Strike map rendered in Minecraft.

Two videos in one day is almost unprecedented I know, but this guy this crazy guy, this skilled and talented guy, this guy on the Internet has singlehandedly created an entirely new e-sport. Why not check out his Minecraft Parkour skills and apply them in your own world? Why not indeed.

Do you remember your first day in Minecraft? Do you wish that Zombies and Creepers had the ability to graffiti your creations? I do and I do.

I’m picking this to be one of the best Minecraft mods of all time. The Atmosphere mod creates a sound atmosphere to suit your surroundings. If standing at the top of a snowy mountain, you hear arctic wind. On a peaceful night you hear the soft sounds of nocturnal bugs. The mod monitors game play in real time to keep the sounds synced to what you are doing. It’s out tomorrow and it promises to be amazing.

The Minecraft Piston mod ;was so popular that Notch and the Mojangles decided to add it to the base game. This video demonstrates the behavior of pistons as they will be included in the 1.7 update. There are some interesting new dynamics, such as the ability of pistons not only to push blocks, but to grip them and move them forwards and backwards. Piston elevators are something of a reality, as are movable walls. Also included: piston dams! Oh and hidden doors with stairs that fold out, then retract.
