The Smart Moving mod adds new animations and abilities to the game making movement more realistic and fluid. If you’ve felt like the things you can do moving around are a bit stale and rigid, then this mod is just what you need. Flying is one of the key noticeable differences. You’ll take on a more “Superman”-like stance while flying and you can move up and down with the mouse cursor instead of only space/shift.

You can now free climb up 1-2 height blocks making it easier to scale mountains and caves. The grab key is configurable in the settings but all you need to do is click that next to a ledge and press forward. You’ll start climbing immediately.

And using the same grab key you can climb on the ceiling if it’s made with closed trap doors. It’s a neat way to make a pathway only accessible via the ceiling.

Jumping is a bit improved with the charged jump feature. By default it allows you to jump 2 blocks in height versus the standard 1 block. Just hold the sneak key and the jump key together then release one or the other to jump.

Sneaking is also improved with the addition of crawling. Hold the grab + sneak keys together and you’ll start crawling. This is perfect for hiding in tall grass and crops.

And if your movements seem a bit too slow or you just want to be running constantly, you can raise (or lower) your speed with the touch of a button. You can configure those keys easily in the settings as well.
